Antique show scores.

Chad and I had an early morning today.  We rode our bikes to a little antique show close to our house. We found some things that we couldn't live without... of course.  Who goes just to look?

Garages.

I just realized that I was due for a new post.  It's been a busy week.

I had time to ponder the garage while Chad was away last week working on the other side of the country, I don't remember which states and why he was there so don't ask, and this is what I have concluded...

It's a hot mess.

It is just a garage but it is one of the first places I see in the morning and the first thing that I see when I come home in the afternoon. Shouldn't it be a little inspiring?  A kind of space that just gets you going.  A happy place?

Super fans.

Ugh.

Going a little cra cra.

Here are some photos for inspiration.  We are stuck on the bikes.  No clue what to do... The green is a must.  *Obsessing*

Real Simple
Questions we have to ask ourselves.

1. What do you we actually need in the garage?
2. Do we really use two basketballs?  Is 1 enough?
3. Do we really need three coolers?
4.  Will we ever use this massive bag of fertilizer?
5. How many flowering pots are necessary?

Finally!

I have had a minor major obsession with some outdoor curtains at Lowes going on two months now.  Remember is a previous post here I mentioned buying one set of them full price because I was afraid that someone would buy them all?  Well---- I went back to Lowes last night to see if the rest had been marked down.  They hadn't but the lady at the customer service recognized me because I have gone in and asked for a price check at least two days a week for a solid month.

She admired my determination and told me to just ask the manager to mark them down for me... Little did I know but if an item has been on the shelf for months and they are non stock items you can bargain for a lower price.  SCORE!  He marked $10 off each of them... now I have fabulous kitchen curtains and I saved $40.

I had a really loud internal scream of excitement when he told me $20 a piece for them.  I ran out of the store and immediately hung those babies up.   Today I will watch football and iron them.

Pumpkins.

Southern Living
If you are my mailman then you would know that I subscribe to 90 different magazines (not really but close).  There is something about getting a new magazine full of photos everyday... something new to look at and think about making.

Today I am thinking about pumpkins because I am getting my October magazines and there are pumpkins coming up at the farm across the street. I always obsess over pumpkin ideas and brag about the things I could do with them.  Who can keep a pumpkin fresh though... mine always rot.

I have started a collection of non rotting, Target, 75% off, after Halloween clearance, plug in pumpkins the past couple of years and am the proud owner of nearly a dozen of them.  All shapes.  All sizes.  While it is too early to put them outside I can still flip through magazine, stalk the Internet, and wish I could carve a real one that would last for several months.

Enjoy the pics people.

Things that make you go AHHHHHH

Do you have some things that make you super angry?  I have a ton of things.  Maybe I am just a little paranoia about the way things work and should be done.... don't know... don't really care.

For example: See these curtains  I have been obsessed with at Lowes?  They refuse to mark them down to a reasonable price.  They are green striped curtains.. they haven't sold any for the past 4 months.  Non stock item they tell me.  They need to go on sale.

I bought a pair full price fearing that I wouldn't ever find a matching set if I didn't... they win.

Bad example.  What about people riding their bikes in the middle of the road?  Get in the bike path before I run you over... or what about the person that won't let you merge into traffic?  Seriously?  The light is red...  What about the piles of church booklets that solicitors leave on your doorstep while you're at work?   DO I LOOK LIKE SOMEONE WHO NEEDS TO GO TO CHURCH?  Yeah yeah maybe today I do...

I beat the clerk at the post office today in a bet.  I had a medium flat rate box that I needed to ship but it was going to cost $11... more than the contents of the box was worth... so I told her to put it all in a bag and weigh it and see how much that would cost.  Well, at this point I began to amuse some other workers and they come over and tell me it will be more because it's  priced by weight...

Internally, I am fuming.... who are you people trying to sell me something I don't need?   I tell them I bet it won't cost more.... guess what! I saved $3.50 shipping it in the stupid envelope.  Before I left the building I yelled "I win..." and then I walked out.

Proud of my $3.50 that I had just saved myself I clipped the 99 cent Sonic coupon that came in the mail and made my way to the drive thru... kid takes my card and my coupon at the window and calls his manager over... ok weird...

He opens the window and says you have to pay full price because you didn't tell us you had a coupon and we can't delete a transactions... DO WHAT!!!!  I call the manager to the window and said to erase my order and total it up again with the coupon.  Why would I pay 3.00 for a drink that I could get at McDonalds for $1 all day everyday?  I'm at Sonic and my coupon clearly says 99 cent...

I told them to keep the drink and I start to drive off... kids yells at me out of the window "MAYBE NEXT TIME YOU'LL READ YOUR COUPON."

Kid.  Get a life.

You win some, you lose some.  Today I won and lost.  But most importantly I made it through the day.  Tomorrow is a new one and I get to start all over again.  I am going to have people, things, objects that don't go my way and I am just going to have to brush it off my shoulders and move on.

When you are having a bad day try telling yourself what I told myself as I drove away from the "i give out coupons and don't follow up on them store..."

"There is always a McDonalds on your way home."
