It's not exactly tropical...

Everyone back home (Alabama) seems to be busy posting photos of their red tomatoes so I thought I'd give an update on mine.  They are still green.  Poor things.  The weather  isn't exactly tropical around these here parts of the country if you haven't figured that out by now.

When is lettuce ready to eat?!  Mine looks ready but I'm scared to partake.

Check out the tag next to my romas--- Bonnie Plant Farms!  All the way from Union Springs Alabama.  I got so excited when I saw a huge stamp on the side of a crate that said "plant grown in Union Springs, Alabama"  and then "crate made in Bainbridge, GA."  The manager ended up giving them to me.  Hehehehehehhe!!!!!

Are these carrots?  I can't remember.

Fencing is expensive so I only fenced the part visible to the road. That ok right? hahaha

The Builders Grade Bathroom Vanishing Act Take 1

My last post  was a total brag-fest over painting the cabinets in the bathroom.  Eh, they looked great but all I could think about was everything else in the bathroom and how it looked with the new fabulousness of the cabinets....

The next day I went to my favorite junk antique mall.  I am not going to tell where it is because I don't want you to stalk it down and take everything I have ever dreamed of buying.  Anyway---- scored some sweet knobs to put on my cabinets for just $3.

The knobs came in a random Ziploc bag.  I have 4 or 5 left over that I will toy around with later.

After I got the knobs I dropped into Lowe's to browse a bit and ended up with a gallon of mistinted paint.  Score again... I paid $5 for this awesome brown color (Piano Brown/ Valspar).  Chad totally freaked when he saw the color.  He couldn't believe I would ever paint our small bathroom brown. HA.

After several lovers quarrels he ended up liking the finished product.  Moral of the story... don't judge a bathroom before it's finished.

Check out the window box I grabbed at the junk antique place for $20.  Who doesn't need some extra rolls of TP hanging around?!

Bathroom Cabinets Revamp

Bhahahahaa I heard you scream all the way from Alabama mom...

Step 1 Decide you hate the cabinet color (Thanks Q)

Step 2 Get husband out of house.
Step 3 Find an old quart of paint (the paint I decided against for the kitchen).  You are going to want to prime first.  I used Kilz. Then I used a semi gloss for the actual cabinet.

Step 5 Take off cabinet doors
Step 6 Sand--- Low grit.  Wipe off after sanding.

Step 7 Paint  (don't look in the cabinets gross)

Step 8 Let dry (2 hours?)
Step 8 Put Doors Back on

Yes... I know the counter top looks bad but it will be replaced, the walls painted, and the mirror framed out with molding.

Wildlife on Tuesday Night

I'll have to admit it is strange to drive to town and see these massive elk on the side of the road.  They stay pretty close to the Big Thompson River.  Maybe they like the shade from the trees. Can anyone guess how many meals you could get out of one of these things?!  Recipes?  We have some in the freezer---- delish

I have news for this little rabbit--- stay away from my lettuce or Quincy will eat you else!
